Greg Thompson

Greg Thompson is the Chief Executive Officer of Surgical Management Professionals (SMP). He brings more than two decades of executive healthcare leadership built on a career-long belief that healthcare works best when physicians drive the direction of care. Greg spent 18 years as CEO of an orthopedic practice, growing it from $18 million to $120 million in revenue while building two high-performing ambulatory surgery centers and achieving 90th-percentile physician compensation. He directed ASC strategic development for Philips Healthcare across 13 states, advising provider groups from concept through opening day, and later served as founding Chief Development Officer of Lync Health Partners, where he built new service lines and an innovative modular ASC construction model. Greg holds a Master of Health Administration from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Murray State University.
