Sayword Edwards has more than 20 years of experience within the health care revenue cycle for acute care hospitals, an integrated health network, and a multi-site clinic system. She has a successful record in Patient Financial Services, Patient Access, Coding, and Health Information Management. She was heavily involved in the implementation of a successful Coding University program that allowed the company to develop its own coders. Sayword has been involved in the implementation of key initiatives that resulted in increased revenue, quality coding, and decreased error rates and accounts receivable. She also has served as an adjunct instructor educating students in the medical billing and health information programs of a community college. Sayword graduated with her Associates Degree in Health Information Management from John A. Logan Community College. Sayword also holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and her Master’s in Public Health from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
